GET THE COMPILATION

Hell has finally frozen over and resulted in the first winter edition of Boozedrome! This is strictly online-only, and will be on our YouTube channel. We're keeping it chill with the rules too, which have been relaxed considerably! Check out the specifics below. No physical release will be produced though, but we'll put up the tracks on Bandcamp. The results will be announced on the Jumalauta Discord, which you should also check out for general chatter.

Rules

• Genre: anything on what one might call the "hardcore/gabber continuum" - it doesn't have to sound like it's from the 1990s!
• Any tracker format playable in Hippo Player 2.45 without additional libraries. Example formats: ProTracker MOD, OctaMED, AHX, and if you're willing to take risks regarding playback quality, S3M, XM, and SID
• The tracks will be played on an A600 with 68020 CPU and some extra memory. For a somewhat similar emulator config (e.g. WinUAE), use a bare A1200 + Fast RAM for testing.
• Maximum size: 2 MB
• Maximum length: 3 minutes

Seppur la vita dell’Asylum sia stata breve, rimane nella storia delle discoteche Jesolane per essere stata capostipite di un genere.

Un locale culto, unico e ispiratore di nuove tendenze.

Nulla di simile tornera’ mai piu’ nella storia del costume della discoteca italiana.

Since part one featured some formidable bangers I was a bit skeptical about putting together a second one. As a matter of fact I was right: part one is still the finest. Nonetheless I’m astonished by the incredible amount of exceptional tracks I’ve been able to pull from this timeframe… it’s such an inexhaustible goldmine that a part three MAY be coming…

Now I’m shouting my greetings to all passionate DJs and clubbers involved in those terrific years spent at this insane club where we all left our hearts… and minds...

Also I wish to thank Spazio 432hz shop here in Venice, Mestre from where I picked up some of these amazing oldschool Techno vinyl. We barely had a Techno shop in the area back in the days, let alone in 2024!

They arrived to me from various sources:
Some bought from Midtown Rotterdam in 1994.
Some bought from ReMix Rome in 1994.
Some inherited from my friend HASK in 2020.
Some were given to me by DJ Moka sometime in 1992/93.
Some were found at a vinyl records convention in Venice.
Some were bargains from Discogs.
Some I don’t even remember :)

-Mayhem for Survival- was a public call to materialize this inspiration on tracks, walk this path together, strengthen as community an share results with the people. The result is this release of 22 tracks from 22 different artists on many hardbeats styles like: hardcore, industrial, early, gabber, hardstyle, hard techno, frenchcore, hardtek and experimental. This V/A gathers solid names in the scene as new talents to check from 10 different countries like: Argentina, Belgium, Brasil, Colombia, France, Germany, Italy, Slovenia, U.K, U.S.A.

And how about to help others in the middle of this process? Even a little bit? The earnings collected through the sale of this release on our bandcamp page (until october 2020) will be used for a charity action human or animal still to define and share.

Much thanks to all the artists worldwide involved in this release.

The sample used here by Sucre Rose on his remix is a vocal that Ingler and Liza'N'Eliaz pronounced while doing this tune... They vocal sample from them :) A pure hasard as Hardcore sometime requires to build a legend :) 

The second tune, from Bombardier, is an oldschool truly industrial tune, noisy and unconfortable that sticks to the Uncivilized World label... Crazy shit !

B side starts with a remix from Koney of PTH15 from Ingler and finishes with a pure jewel from Sucre Rose who opens and close the EP. Visual is from Hô.

Two of the three tracks were entirely composed and recorded from an Amiga 600 (the same of my first record!) and one is the result of an experimental way of using an Amiga as a MIDI sampler.

The Amiga sound chip has a resolution of 8 bit but it's not hosted in a 8 bit computer. It can do chipsound like 8 bit just because it can playback samples of those waveforms.

The 8 bit limit of her Paula chip is not responsible for the typical crunchy Amiga sound because one could downsample anything on a normal PC and still be light years behind the texture which Paula chip adds to the sound.

So here we are with an example of Amiga sound applied to the one genre which has more to earn from it: basic-in-your-face Techno!
